さて、犬の餌食になり無残な姿になっていた棚、
どうなったでしょうか。
まわりの方々が、ごく一般的な家具をチョイスしている中、
ただでさえ、英語があまり喋れずノリで対応している日本人が、
修行僧のように作業を続けます。
ここまできて、”人と違う道を歩きがち”な性格を発揮しました。
まずは、木をできるだけ傷つけないように、専用のリムーバーを使って塗装を落とします。
この作業で私のコミュニティースクール生活はほぼ終了しました。
もう意地ですよ。
プリンスエドワード島という自然豊かな島に来て、黙々と家具の塗装を落とし続ける。
なんて贅沢な時間の使い方なのでしょうか。
いつも「家具修理を嫌いにならないでね」「素晴らしいよ！Little girl !」と声をかけ続けてくれたインストラクターのジェームス。
にこやかに 話しかけてくれたクラスの皆様。
ありがとう。
なんとか、修行僧は修行を終えました。
どうか遠巻きにみてください。
そして、褒められると調子にのる私は、今住んでいるホームステイ先のアウトドアチェアの修理に取りかかりました。
今日も黙々と修行僧になります。

ーJust finished the furniture refinishingー
I had been to the Rural Community School since January to beginning of March. The school was for the people who live in charlottetown and around there. There were over 10 classes which we could take. For example, line dancing, photography and guitar. My class that I chose was furniture refinishing, because manufacturing is the thing that I love as one of the hobbies. My furniture that I choose to refinishing was really tough for me. It was painted so heavy and chewed by the puppy that is in the house which I am living with host family. In addition, one of the reasons why it was tough was that I was planning to change it from painting to staining.
As for why I went to the community school was that I wanted to talk with local people who are Canadian. I met a lot of people who are very kind. The experience that friends who I met there helped me made me happy, and it’s something that I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
Finally it was done. I did my best. I would like to say by myself..."Good Job!"
By the way, I’m doing next project which is outdoor chair as furniture refinishing.

そして、更新の頻度をあげてみます。
なんでかは、次のブログで書きます。
５ヶ月いて１０回しか更新してないのに何言っとるん、という声が自分でも聞こえますが、どうぞ生暖かい目で見守ってください。
英語もミス多発ですが「ミスを恐れるな」という都合の良い言い聞かせを胸に書いております。
更新頻度を上げることで、内容に濃淡がでますが、「誰かのために」の発信というより健忘録なので、悪しからず。
